“I would highly recommend Project Based Primary School to anyone looking for a high-quality preschool or kindergarten!”
“Project Based Primary School was such an amazing experience for our family! My son always looked forward to going and absolutely loved Mikaela. As an educator I toured almost every school in town; and after meeting with Mikaela our decision to attend was clear. Her project based approach is developmentally appropriate, engaging, and child-centered. The amount of knowledge my four-year-old retained was mind-blowing! PBP is full of highly effective instruction, play-based learning, and curriculum that pushes little learners in the best way possible. Social and emotional learning was also seamlessly woven in throughout the school day. All pillars of what we were looking for in an early childhood program. I would highly recommend Project Based Primary School to anyone looking for a high-quality preschool or kindergarten!”

“The learning is scientifically based so that all of the students have a strong academic foundation combined with a love for school.”
My daughter got to spend a year in preschool with Mikaela and it was such a dream. I work in public education and so I can be pretty picky about how my kids are taught. Mikaela uses play and routines expertly to make learning fun. And the learning is scientifically based so that her students have a strong academic foundation combined with a love for school. All the little buddies seemed to enjoy each other so much and my daughter was always excited to talk about what they did together that day before she almost invariably fell asleep in the car. All the stars, all the recommends.

This Includes:Phonological and Phonemic Awareness & Phonics: Raising Little Readers™

This curriculum is hands-on, multisensory, academically sound, and developmentally appropriate for students ages 3+.
Math: Good at Math™

Students will learn about patterns, shapes, numbers, counting, addition and subtraction, measurement, data and graphing, time, and money.
Handwriting: Pencil Pathways™
This curriculum takes students on a complete handwriting journey. Before they pick up a pencil, they will work on essential, foundational fine motor development. They will also work on developing their pencil grip with a natural and progressive sequence, as well as begin their handwriting journey with developmental writing pathways. When they are ready, they will learn to write all letters and numbers using correct writing pathways, multisensory writing experiences, and developmentally appropriate pacing and sequencing.
Writing: Scribbles to Stories®
Learning to write begins before letters, words, and sentences hit the page. This writing curriculum starts at the very beginning, teaching students to tell stories through their illustrations. It then progresses through labeling, word writing, sentence writing, and book writing. It covers personal narratives, fiction stories, procedural writing, informational/report writing, persuasive writing, opinion writing, fairytales and fables, and poetry.
Science and Social Studies: Big Projects for Little Learners
Students will embark on engaging, meaningful, community-driven Project Based Learning units that will allow students to learn how to ask questions, research and collect information, conduct experiments, learn from community experts, go on learning expeditions in the community, integrate multiple content areas, and answer a driving question by the end of the unit. As a unit concludes, families will be invited to quarterly student exhibitions where students will present their learning and projects as we celebrate all they have accomplished!
Social Emotional Learning: Responsive Classroom®
Classroom routines, expectations, and classroom culture will be built around community, respect, and empathy. With daily morning meetings, students will get to know one another, learn about speaking and listening, practice important social skills, and build meaningful friendships. They will learn to identify their feelings and recognize other’s feelings and practice mindfulness as we become a classroom community.
